Aqua (Kanji: 水源, Katakana: アクア, Romaji: Suigen) is one of the Clear Cards that was captured after the mysterious clearing of the Sakura Cards.
Appearance[]
Aqua appears as a large bird which is entirely formed out of water. Resembling a phoenix or waterbird, a crown is also made of water and it hovers above its head.
Synopsis[]
Create[]
Aqua appears causing a heavy rain over Tomoeda. The card attacks Sakura and Tomoyo while they are on their way home, creating water tentacles that restrain them. Sakura uses the Gale card to free herself from the card's attacks and upon realizing the source of the card, she uses Siege to lock it up and then secure it.[1]
Examine Use[]
In Chapter 6, Sakura uses Aqua to find the true identity of the Reflect card. In Chapter 8, Sakura uses it along Siege to leave the trees controlled by the Action card suspended in water. Sakura tries to fight Blaze with Aqua in Chapter 19, but the fire card gets the upper hand. In the anime, Sakura uses it to defend herself against the cloaked figure's fire magic.[2]
Magical Abilities[]
Water Magic (Hydrokinetics):The ability to create and manipulate water. Aqua can create waves and bind people with its watery body similar to The Watery card.

Trivia[]
- The kanji at the top of the card: 水源 (Pronounced 'Suigen') means 'water source' in Japanese.
- Aqua is the first Clear Card to have a Latin name and the second card in the series. (The first being The Libra.)
- Aqua's design parallels Blaze in several ways; similar in the way The Watery and The Firey parallel each other:
- Both have the appearance of birds.
- Both are the embodiment of their element.
- Both possess an ornament atop of their heads.
- In the episode 17 of Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card anime, when Sakura was using Spiral to close the cake in and compress it. She uses Aqua instead of Spiral, this was most likely an animation error. This was not fixed in both the second broadcast and the Blu-ray version of this episode.
