Chapter 45 is the chapter of the manga Cardcaptor Sakura, forming part of Volume 11.
Synopsis[]
Sakura was very surprised to see her father Fujitaka arrive.
Talking to him, she realizes that he too was immune to Eriol's spell that put everyone to sleep,
Eriol replies resolutely that his magic has no effect on him.
His father notices everyone else, and Eriol says not to worry: it's been a long time since he saw "his other self".
Fujitaka doesn't understand either.
"When I split in two, I was the one who kept the memory".
The wizard Clow Reed, upon his death, split his soul into two parts: one part was reincarnated as Eriol, the other in Fujitaka.
Eriol asks Sakura to cast a spell on him and his father.
Eriol then gives half of his strength to Fujitaka, so that he no longer feels like the greatest wizard in the world,
They all go to Eriol's house. While Touya and Fujitaka are resting, Sakura and Kerochan talk to Eriol.
Eriol admits that he caused Sakura trouble in order to make her transform with the new scepter. This is because Clow Reed created the Clow Cards to be powered by darkness. Instead, Sakura is the new Master, and draws her power from the stars.
For a long time, the cards worked even with the little power that Clow had left behind.
If the cards hadn't drawn from a new power, the magic would have faded over time.
This is why the Clow Cards couldn't work with Sakura's new scepter, because they draw their power from different forces.
Eriol and Suppy make Sakura understand that Eriol helped her during the judgment against Yue because he sent Kaho Mizuki with her bell, which he filled with the power of the Moon: Eriol knew that Sakura would use The Windy, and with her help he used the card without problems.
Sakura was unable to master the new power, and the clashes with Eriol made her work hard and transform the cards little by little.
Tomoyo tells Eriol that he is a kind boy because despite everything he made sure that Sakura and Syaoran were okay.
Kerochan also understood Eriol's move: transforming cards required magical power that Sakura did not have initially, but which she gained.
The chapter ends with a person commenting behind the door.
