Summary[]

Sakura discovers two Clow Cards and leaves them in the basement. When she comes home from running an errand, she finds the place covered with branches.

Plot[]

CCS EP04 - Mysterious Cards

Sakura putting the two cards down

While cleaning the house, Sakura finds two dormant Clow Cards, the Wood and a card covered in ink. But while Sakura runs an errand for her father, the two cards activate, creating a jungle inside the house. Sakura arrives to see the laundry already finished, finds Kero taking a break in her bed, and gets ready to prepare something to eat. However, she hears a rumbling noise and wakes Kero.

CCS EP04 - Wood..

WOOD's branches coming out of the door.

Sakura and Kero approach the door to the basement and see a tree growing at rapid speed. Sakura shuts the door, cutting off some of the branches, and Kero deduces that it's the work of the Wood card. While holding the door closed, Kero lectures Sakura about the importance of signing a card after acquiring it. Sakura tries to capture the Wood, but it retreats into the basement. The branch ensnares Kero and Sakura and they suddenly hear someone ringing the doorbell. Sakura answers, only to realize her mistake.

Kero then pretends to be a plushie as the branch breaks through the basement door and drags Kero and Sakura to the front door. Sakura sees someone opening the door and covers her eyes, but to her relief, it's Tomoyo, who untangles Sakura and Kero.

CCS EP04 - Tomoyo Helps

Tomoyo Helps Sakura and Kero

The branches grow larger, causing them to branch out to the veranda. Kero sees the laundry he'd just hung out to dry and gets angered at the thought of having to start again, causing him and the girls to go to the basement. After finally reaching the basement, Sakura uses the Watery card to capture the Rain card, and the Wood card yields on its own.

Kero then calls Sakura and Tomoyo, and they see that the house is in a worse state than before, but Tomoyo soothes Sakura and Kero's despair by offering to help them clean up. Later, Fujitaka and Touya return from work, seeing the house very clean, and finds Sakura (along with Kero) taking a nap in her room. Fujitaka thanks Sakura for cleaning the house and say that they'll have cake later. Touya tells her to put her name on a piece or he'll claim it. Sakura mutters in her sleep that she already wrote her name, referring to the cards. The Wood and Rain card are behind her, with her name written on them.

Notes[]

Differences between Cardcaptor Sakura and Cardcaptors[]

  • Sakura and Tomoyo/Madison planned to go to visit a Forest park in the original Japanese version and an amusement park in the dub.
  • After Sakura gives her father the blue envelope at the bus stop, Nelvana deleted the following scene of Yukito/Julian buying her sweets at a coffee shop and cut to a commercial break.
  • In the original version, Tomoyo was planning to tape Sakura in her battle costume regardless of whether or not there is a card. In the dub, however, Madison made the costume as a precaution for there being a Clow Card at the amusement park.
