CCS EP23 - Talk

Sakura telling Tomoyo that Yukito will be sleeping over

Sakura is extremely cheerful as she walks to her class and greets her friends, Naoko, Rika and Chiharuwho in turn greet her back. She also greets Tomoyo, who notices how happy she is and asks if anything happened. Sakura whispers to her saying that Yukito will be sleeping over at her house. Syaoran hears what they’re saying and demands to know who’ll be sleeping over–even though he already knows. Sakura was shocked as she didn’t know how he heard. Meiling comes up to them asking Syaoran who ‘he’ is when he confirms it with Sakura.

Syaoran doesn’t reply, and Yamazaki interrupts them by telling Tomoyo that their music teacher allowed Tomoyo to use the music room after school for the competition. All of their friends huddle around her asking if they can listen to her singing, Tomoyo tells them they can come. Naoko suddenly interrupts when Meiling says she can sing; she tells them that there’s a ghost linked to the choir club.

Naoko tells them that a girl from the choir club stayed late at night, and she went to grab something she forgot. Naoko tells them that the girl heard someone singing even when there was nobody inside the music room.

CCS EP23 - Scared

Sakura standing up; frightened at the thought of staying at night

In music class, Sakura is scared of the story Naoko told. She and Syaoran then feel a Clow Card, and Syaoran tells her that they need to find out if it’s a Card or not, and suggests they meet up at the school at night, frightening Sakura as she stands up; scared. Her teacher asks if anything’s wrong, and she apologizes. At home, she consults with Kero, who tells her she should go but she’s too scared. Sakura then goes downstairs to brew more tea for Kero, where Fujitaka tells her that Touya and Yukito are pretty late.

Touya and Yukito then ring the doorbell as Fujitaka gets it. They sit down in the living room with Sakura present and Touya tells everyone in the room about the music room rumor at her school. Yukito then admits that he wants to hear the mysterious voice, which gives Sakura the motivation to go at night to her school.

Sakura, Tomoyo and creep around their school with Kero. Syaoran taps on her shoulder and she gets scared, scaring Syaoran and Meiling too. Kero starts bickering with them, especially Meiling, but then Syaoran motions for her to be quiet, as they hear singing. They find where the voice is coming from and they run to the sound. Tomoyo, however, recognizes the song it’s singing. Sakura starts to get scared, but Kero reminds her how Yukito wanted the recording, as he’s about to tell Syaoran, Sakura quickly covers Kero’s mouth, and they continue looking for the voice.

CCS EP23 - Impatient

Meiling opening the door; impatient

They start getting closer to where the voice is coming from, the music room – just like what Naoko was telling them. They get to the door and Sakura also recognizes the song. Before Tomoyo can tell them what the song is, Meiling opens the door, impatient. The voice then ‘takes off’, and Sakura tells Tomoyo that it’s the song she’s been singing for her. Tomoyo shares with them that it’s the song she’s been practicing for her competition.

Once they hear the voice again, they take off, and Sakura realizes the voice sounds a lot like Tomoyo’s. Kero and Syaoran both realize what the voice is; the Clow Card ‘The Song’. Kero explains to them that the card listens and mimics the voice of the best singer it hears. They hear the voice and run to the rooftop. Sakura is confused about how she can seal it, Kero suggests that Tomoyo sings the song, thinking that she’s perfected it so the card will appear, also wanting to perfect its voice. Tomoyo starts singing, the song Yoru no Uta, and after a while, the card starts singing along with Tomoyo.

CCS EP23 - Singing

Tomoyo singing with the card

Sakura seals the card, exclaiming that Tomoyo’s voice is beautiful, Syaoran and Meiling agreeing. Kero and Syaoran start bickering once again, and Sakura realizes that she forgot to record, saying that the duet was really beautiful.

Syaoran tells her to write her name on the card and have the card sing with Tomoyo. Sakura does what he says and uses the card. Tomoyo and The Song start singing their beautiful duet.

Quotes[]

  • Sakura: Tomoyo is a really good singer.
  • Meiling: I'm good at singing, too!
  • Kero: If I copied your singing, brat, it'd tarnish the image of the Clow Cards!
  • Meiling: What was that!?

  • Kero: Since you're wearing those ceremonial clothes, and even got your sword, you came here to look for a Clow Card! Didn't you, kid?
  • Syaoran: Who are you calling a kid?
  • Kero: "Kid" is enough for someone who hasn't even been alive for a decade!

  • Tomoyo: Did something nice happen to you? Because you've looked so happy since you came in.
  • Sakura: (Whispering) Today, Yukito is sleeping over at our house. He'll be going over our plans for their athletic festival with my big brother.
  • Tomoyo: Oh, is that so?
  • Syaoran: Who's going sleeping over!?
  • Sakura: I said it in a really small voice...
  • Tomoyo: I guess the name of someone you like can be heard in any condition.
