The Libra is a Clow Card with the power to detect whether a person is lying. It is aligned under The Earthy.

It is one of the fifty-three Clow Cards in the anime.

Appearance[]

The Libra Card shows a pan-scale, one side holding a sun and the other holding a moon.

Magic and Abilities[]

Truth Magic: Although not actually displayed, Libra is able to tell if a person is lying or not.

Fortune Telling: All Clow Cards have the ability to help their user predict the future. Their method of fortune-telling is similar to that of tarot cards. The interpretation of the message the Clow Cards relay depends on the magical power of the user.

Synopsis[]

Capture[]

Libra's capture is never shown directly in the series (along with Bubbles and Through), but Episode 36 shows that Sakura had captured it over spring break (the time period following Episode 35).

Transformation[]

Libra is transformed in Episode 53 during Sakura's frantic wave of transformations of Clow Cards into Sakura Cards.^[1] Its transformation is never mentioned in the English dub of Episode 53; it is replaced by The Cloud card in the frantic wave of transforming the Clow Cards into Sakura Cards.

Libra is likely based on the astrological sign of the same name.
The kanji at the top of the card: 秤, (Pronounced 'Hakari') means 'scales', 'weighing machine' and 'balances' in Japanese.
